Hand Pain When Cycling
« on: 02 April, 2018, 08:58:38 am »
Recently on a couple of long runs the palm at the bottom left corner of my right hand gets very sore, so much that i have to put some sort of padding in the glove to dull it a little. It seems to be the right hand only and the happens on any of the 3 bikes that i use. I've tried riding with or without gloves and it seems to make no difference, still get the dull pain, can't work out why it's the right hand only.

Which hand do you squeeze your bottle with?
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

On one of my bikes, I used to get a numbing pain in my right hand when going on longer rides (normally after 50-60km)

I eventually figured it out .... my handlebars were too wide. I got narrower handlebars, and no more pain.

I was riding with my arms splayed out and often ended up placing my hands on the flat part of the bars to ease the pain...

I found this video that explains how to measure:

not sure if this will help with your hand pain though
