Luxos B Connections Broken

I'm rather annoyed about this.  Just as the autumn is getting underway, and I'm preparing to go dynamo, I find the input tabs on my Lumotec Luxos B have sheared off:



I bought this from Rose Versand in 2016, so it's only see two winters.  B & M say approach Rose Versand to see what can be done under warranty (B&M think Rose offer 5 years), so I await outcome with baited breath.

If nothing comes of this, has anyone any experience of this fault, and of repairing it themselves?  Obviously any warranty would be voided by attempting a repair, so I'm not touching in yet, but just in case...

Any similar experiences would be helpful to me in deciding what to do.

They're easy to open and hopefully there is enough tag left inside to be able to solder to.

I've seen reports of the contacts rusting away.  They are quite exposed.  My original Luxos-U got an electrical fault, not this problem with the contacts.  On the replacement I've tried to smear grease on the tabs to prevent rusting
