The ornamental plum in the sheltered part of the back garden is coming in to blossom.  That’s at least a month earlier than usual.  A couple of daffodils now in bloom along with snowdrops.

Our "lawn" is getting tall enough to hide the violets.

Two reports in Essex today of swallows. One in Frinton, the other Langham, both N. Essex. I've not seen one.

Last week was balmy with a real temperature rise that brought the bumble-bees out in force, so this week we're down to 2°C overnight with dead bees here & there.

Maybugs crawling on the cycle path between here & the next village.  They didn't look too happy after the 1.5° overnight temperature.

Bramley apple blossom opening, eating apple blossom in early bud, half a dozen dandelions on lawn upsprouting like a rainforest, Spanish bluebells in flower, at least two species of ice cream van...

Bay cherry and apple (Gala) in blossom. Bees in the pulmonaria. And wisteria flowers opening.
