Corn flakes used to be in waxed paper bags within their box.

I'm old enough to remember that but plastic bags don't taste the same!

Bouldering. Did that.

Another spinning class booked for 9am tomorrow to make me get up and go to the gym early.

I'm looking forwards to a rest day on Sunday.

Didn’t feel great last night so decided to cancel spinning booking.

Woke up this morning feeling worse - lurgy has jumped from Feline to me, I think.

Lurgy confirmed, I was worst on Monday but it cleared overnight so I was ok on Tuesday, but took it easy to be sure.

Yesterday I was back on it: 57 mile round trip cycling to/from work and to the pub meetup in Bristol. Today, so far an hour football at lunchtime, I will buy some climbing boots on the way home from work, probably go to the gym this evening (chest and abs) and a swim if I've time. Then prepare the bike for the Upper Thames and download the gpx. Tomorrow lunchtime, try out the new climbing boots.

I had some blood taken on Tuesday for my normal diabetes test. Nothing abnormal about that apart from it hurt like hell going in: certainly more than normal. However, an hour later I had forgotten about it and went about my daily life.

Anyway, yesterday morning first thing I noticed a really sharp stabbing pain along the blood vessel involved in the test. There is no bruising, discolouration or lumps or anything, just a pain when I reach out with that arm.

It’s been like this now for two days. Most strange. Not had this before.

I'm off work again today.

Went to bed tired, normal time. Woke up more tired, with vertigo/dizzyness - couldn't walk down the corridor without bouncing off the walls.

This is looking increasingly like Menieres and I'm appalled and surprised by how exhausted it makes me. I could previously have got by well on 6hrs sleep per night. That is no longer enough. I would previously have woken by 6:30am regardless of an alarm going off. Now, without an alarm, I can sleep to 11.

Shit, Mr Charly, Menieres is nasty shit.  I sincerely hope it isn't that or any of the other vestibular bollox that people can get.  On the other hand if it is Menieres and they start to treat it then with careful self-care and meds it CAN be less horrible than it sounds like right now.

Keeping fingers crossed they work out how to nobble whatever it is.

I was going to post about that in the Weight loss discussion thread, then thought it would be better in the Food & Drink section of The Pub.
I can only say this

I had Moviprep rather than Agent P last year. Managed not to leak.

Good luck!

Afterwards my farts were V V smelly, advised to have some live yoghurt,  and stout, these helped after a few days.

My post-colonoscopy farts were noisy and explosive.
I had a fair bit of painful griping.

Yesterday I was walking to work and my retainer was rattling about in my mouth, so I removed it and spent the day without it.

I put it back in when I got home last night, and it still felt loose.

I went to bed, to sleep, waking to find I didn't have my retainer in.  I eventually found it on my pillow.  I think I may have reached the point where I don't need it!

Planned, and was looking forward to, a busy but enjoyable weekend, been brought to a shuddering halt by a back problem, can't even drive, putting in the clutch hurts too much, today instead of being out enjoying myself I've spent much of the day in front of the TV. :( :(

Don't forget to take your heart rate monitor strap to spinning class, or you'll suffer for lack of pacing.  :hand:

Also don't expect to match your bench press PB immediately afterwards.  ::-)

I haven't been bothering with a HRM in spin classes lately - I didn't like seeing how high it was all the time!

Reckon I hit about 98% of my HRmax on Monday last week... is that a lot?

(220-age would say 105%. I'm going by the 193 I hit in a VO2max test in 2009, and assuming it's dropped a little since then, to around 190).

Shivery, scratchy throat, scratchy eyes, runny nose, can't get warm. Not well enough to be able to concentrate on work, not ill enough to be at home. Awesome.

If I lie down, my head feels like it is going to explode. Not painful at all, just pressure.

Fscking big toes, foostie toenails and foostie nail beds!

Had ingrowing toe nail on big toe for a wee while now.  Also got a bit bruised, and was in the process of coming off, so with a little encouragement last week....

Anyway, fast forward to a couple of days ago, big toe started to get rather foostie, funky and smelly, green discharge on diy dressings
Got really hot and funky this afternoon, so a fun visit to minor injuries unit this evening. Now cleaned up, with iodine dressing and a weeks supply of penicillin!

 :demon:

Should be fun trying to work tomorrow!

I suggest getting yourself some iodine as well and in future dobbing a bit on anything that looks red and inflamed. It's amazingly good.

Having a F;are Up Period with teh Menieres and managed to get up from the bed this morning. Unfortunately the head didn't manage to stop getting up and carried on until the Conveniently placed wardrobe door interacted with the head and the floor in a "Coming together unexpectedly stylee"

Luckily day off tomorrow, and getting dressing changed with practice nurse at doc surgery.

Fingers crossed Aunt Biotics will work (flucloxacillin)

-- edited to add --

And the flucloxacillin seems to be making my bum discharge teh brown, type 6 according to the Bristol Stool Chart.

Frequent cleaning and dressing change is often at least as important as antibiotics in getting this thing to heal quickly.
