Converted water tower in Littlestone, Kent, just north of Dungeness.

The water tower at what remains of RAF Matching in Essex.  Really rusty, it couldn't hold much water nowadays.
I'm gonna limp to the pub and drink 'til the rest of me is as numb as my arse.

All these French ones are getting a bit repetitive - so here's yet another, with added artwork

I do find this all quite amazing really. I mean they are something that most people aren't even aware exist, yet there are so many different types, shapes and styles. I suppose they would employ specialist designers, but something so perfunctory as a water tower you would assume to be a std shape/method of construction, but no, they are all different, each water board/local authority must employ an architect and basically give them a free hand, but with a budget constraint. All rather fascinating really, I wish now, I had been a water tower Architect, instead of pissing about with designing houses and nursing homes. :'(

I remember seeing one in Hungary that was a large metal sphere on top of a tall metal tower. Looked rather pleasing but at the same time a little spooky.

Siwards Howe (or Bunny Hill if your local) water tower near York University.
Allegedly it's the biggest in Europe, its huge anyway and looks like a castle. When I was little my uncle used to tell me a dragon lived in it. Not used to store water anymore.

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

As promised, the Battle Mountain water tower.  Sorry about the McD's sign; the Scottish Restaurant is right next door to the motel...

A photo that reminds me very much of my year in "mid-west" America.

Although we Brits grow up on a diet of glossy US Cop dramas, set in glossy cities, I found most of it looked a lot like this, for mile..after mile...after mile......over the horizon.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

That might or might not be a water tower.  Could be some form of alien Infernal Device.  Top end of White Sands Missile Range on the scorching plains™ of New Mexico.

I once knocked myself out falling off a rope swing on the hill next to that!  They put an underground reservoir in just the other side of it from that picture in the 70s .The water tower is a really spooky place until you get close up and see the crap thats stored in it!Good place for bats though!

Favourite two are the large one of the Southwold pair (star of "Drowning By Numbers") and The House In The Clouds at nearby Thorpeness, which is just nuts.

We stayed in the House in the Clouds. I abseiled down from the top to a lower window wearing a dry suit over my DJ and a dotted white line across my bonce. It was a London Tube Stations themed party.

I had two mates who knew about ropes hanging on to me from the top.
