No! Two female cubs very much alive.
My terrier went to gorund and routed the vixen on Tuesday and put her to flight.
Thursday he went to ground again and I had to dig him out with a male pup in his mouth.
Pup's at the vets now via Brent lodge animal hospital, he's O.K.
Today, Friday, I went back for look with the hounds and heard no vixen when I sent a terrier in but heard only pups growling.
A vixen never normally leaves her pups during the day so we assume she has abandoned her lair as her scent was cold.
So I pulled the out the terrier and dug out the pups as I felt that they had certainly been abandoned by the vixen.
The animal hospital has 8 pups of various ages now, some very tame, like canine pups really.
They will be sent down to Somerset to a fox sanctuary where they will be released into the wild on a large estate.(not the council type I add)
If I had my own place I would have raised them myself and kept a vixen.
