I was indeed on there, applauding Tina Bath's win in the 'Countryfile Challenge'. My partner Heather won the ladies' prize in the competition proper, and the Cheshire class. I was 2nd in the Yorkshire.

Countryfile were very touchy about embargoing any video of  their piece. I had to erase some footage I took. So I hadn't put up my video of the prize presentation. Dame Judy Dench made a surprise appearance there, celebrities are surprisingly keen on hedgelaying.

The Countryfile piece came together quite well. It's always interesting to see how these thing are filmed. They weren't there on the day of the competition, and the final shot was one of the first filmed. I think they conveyed the subject well, given the amount of scripting. It's easy to get the wrong end of the stick.

Heather did a great job explaining to the CountryFile presenter how to partly cut the stems, twist the axe and bend to make her particular style hedgelaying.
Congratulation to both of you on your participation and results.

Not spotted yet, but I'll hopefully be seeing turista of this parish later this evening. Terry and Gerry are playing in Brighton, innit.

Leeds: person with blue hair and rucksack with lots of badges on, with green AUK mudguard sticker, I was behind you at traffic lights outside the town hall this evening. If you are not of this parish you should be! ;)
Think it possible that you may be mistaken.

The excellent Lindsay and Chris, hosting an itinerant wayfarer...

I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

Heading to meeting in Bristol this morning at about 0930 I spotted a black and red Velomobile coming out of MoD Abby Wood.  Anyone here?

A two wheel recumbent in Cambridge, turning the corner outside John Lewis, diet get a good look at the pilot.

It was a low racer style with a 700 rear and smaller front wheel. Going too quickly to see much else.

May or may not be  forumite.  I was in the village pub this lunchtime, having lunch en-famille, excellent thai food.  In walks an obviously experienced cyclist, sits at the table behiind me.  I notice the PBP jersey "you going to be doing it this year?" I ask

"yes, it'll be my seventh, how about you?"
"oh, no, I've not done it, voluntered at the last LEL"
"There's still time"

I liked his optimism, but 7 x PBP  :o
