Sorry Simon, I got your yACF name wrong. I've corrected it in the original.

I turned into the Mall car park just after you rode past it.

A little bit before 10am a rider with LEL 2017 gilet in Little Shelford.  Turned off my route east just as I was catching them.

Iddu, I think, on an elliptigo coming through Brampton heading towards Huntington. I was heading the other way in the car.

I thought I saw Socks on his MTB coming down the south side of Brussie Hill between Bolam and Killerby. Looked like him behind the big shades 8), but he didn't turn when I called his name, so probably not.

LWaB on Calshot velodrome, and occasionally showing off with trackstands.

(Pic not actually by me...the photographer was relying on the autofocus, which struggles with a moving cyclist at 10 feet)

I didn't rely on the autofocus.  This is Sam on one of the Dolan hire bikes.

Couldn't be me, I have several bikes, none of which are mountain bikes.  Maybe a case for another bike....

Not even that, my O level and A level maths teacher used to use that phrase at the end of worked answers. I used to then end my maths homework answers with QED.

Yeah. I remember the (excellent) telly  prog - although confess to not knowing what QED meant.
What I'm more unsure of is Helly's reference to 'Deus=God'  ???

I guess she's posted it in the wrong thread, as it is completely devoid of context here – as far as I can see. As to which thread it was meant to be in, we'll have to await Helly herself.

QED!

Reminds me of:

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," say Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that" and promply vanishes in a puff of logic."

Phew. I thought it was just me.   Meanwhile, Mr Dowson, my maths teacher BITD would finish a proof off on the blackboard with a QED. "Quite Easily Done".

Quod Erat Demonstrandum - which was to be demonstrated
Isn't this a gerund(ive) ?
In which case the translation is more properly "That which had to be demonstrated".
