My train gets in at 1828 so I'll get to you about 1840 if that's okay?  Shout now if it isn't.

Well that was fun. Fast, chatty, racing up hills. Beer at the Farmers, fish and chips, more chat and a fast run back, with a noticeable lack of lights (one front and 2 rear, working, between the three of us).

I am buzzing, now.

Good to meet you, jenhunt, hope to see you on more of these rides, maybe you can persuade hubby to join us?

To cap it all off, I even caught the Virgin train this time.  I never even got my ticket checked - shame it was a day return  :demon:

it was a good ride all over :) the other half was in a minor strop about a) my lack of lights (I'd left them ready to pick up then promptly walked past them!) and b) my late return....

he could probably be persuaded though as I'm sure most of the strop was jealousy! ;) I certainly hope to be able to get out with you guys again, I really enjoyed it.
(here's the whole ride as per strava's recording https://www.strava.com/activities/366824513/analysis )

I may have neglected to tell Mrs T about the lack of lights, and my disco light...

Hopefully I will get the lighting and carrying capacity issues sorted by next week (if not it will have to wait until after my holiday)

I'm out, I'll be tapering properly next week: no bikes and definitely no beer.

Tiermat et al, how well do you know the roads between, say, Wensley and York?

I like the photo!

Depends which way you are going, from Wensley to York, I suppose is not the answer you want :)

Basically, will I die?

We all do, eventually, my son, we all do.

I all seriousness, though, the bit I was worried about was the bit after HAwes, as the ain route is a bit of a racetrack, but I see you have picked the other road, which is much quieter.

JFDI is what I say :)

The Stang, Arkengarthdale, West Stonesdale and Buttertubs - what a fabulous route.  At least you will have done all the climbing by the time you get to ...... York!

Ha! Just spotted this. Cheers, Dale!

Will there be a ride next week?

As in this week, now? Yes. Thursday.

I'm no longer working tomorrow, but I'm thinking of going for a longish (but leisurely) ride during the day, if anyone wants to come.

It won't really be in the direction of NTR, unfortunately, so I don't think I'll be on the pubbe run.
Milk please, no sugar.

Anyone up for a ride next Wednesday (or Tuesday, possibly)?

The Crown at Manfield is changing owners in November - it may be our last chance of a pie-anna-pint!

Could start in Northallerton and finish in Darlo. Get train reservations if relying on Virgin services out of Darlo (not naming any names).
