Anything happening over xmas..?

Due to a very busy time at work, I have only just seen this! I am thinking of a ride out on Weds or Thursday this week.

Any interest, to anyone?

Thursday? As in 'New Years Eve'?

Save a spot for me later in the year - let the rivers subside a bit first...

Is tonight happening? I'm thinking of getting the train to NTR and riding back to Sunderland to finish off this Festive 500 thing.

Sorry, no, too wild and windy, even for hardened long distance audaxers!

Cool, maybe something in the New Year then?

I'm getting the train down for about 7 and riding back via Piercebridge I think. Weather is 'better' then.

Ended up getting the train to Thirsk and riding home from there for a DIY 100/finish off the Festive 500.

Not without incident like, got doored on the way to the station. Mashed my finger and took the brunt of the impact with my throat, but I and bike came away fine. Unlike his door which, when I left, was about 3 inches out of alignment and unable to close...

Any more rides planned now spring's nearly here?

I can't really do next week (Easter Arrow prep etc), but how about the following Thursday 31st of March?

I might have another taker or two, as a lad I rode with yesterday is only in Newby Wiske, and quite liked the idea...

Good thinking...

I might be able to wangle Thursdays (Mrs T goes to  Pirates classes on Thursday now) . Let me have a discussion.

I guess we're in the right vicinity for these now. Not sure how it works with trains and stuff, will do some research.

Thursday isn't so good for me just now.  Still, I'll see what happens.

(Fboab, the Northern train is 30 minutes from Boro to Darlo, then it's one stop down the ECML to NTR on the Transpennine, the Virgin or the Grand Central.)

Grand Central goes Sunlun > Hartlepool > Eaglescliffe > NTR

TPE trains also do Boro-NTR, as Pharti will know.

Having had the discussion, and worked through the options, there is only one that will work.

That is to move it to Wednesday nights as we just can't work it so that Thursday would be possible (unless we didn't set off until 19:30, at which point most of the evening has gone!)

Sorry for the inconvinience, Deano

Not sure when I'll be back in England, but I'll just be bumming about all summer. I'll be playing out on whatever day it is, really enjoyed it last year.

Of course they do.  I've caught that line hundreds of times - I must have been feeling exceedingly stupid last night.
