The late Princess Margaret - she got Elton to play at The Palace and was really into Krautrock. Something to do with reminding her of home.

I'm rather tickled with the idea of Kiki Dee singing with Amon Duul.

Gonna take a guess at Norma Jean Baker, but heaven knows why!

Correct!

On the album "Dance of the Lemmings" (the only one I own by AD2) there's a track called "The Marylin Monroe Memorial Church". Elton John, of course, wrote about her in "Candle in the Wind".

Back over to you, sir, unless Pingu wants to take his turn.

I think Pingu deserves to set a stinker after the Talking Heads one.  While we're waiting, I can throw in an easy one, so no handing over of the baton for this:

What do these four tracks have in common?

Rain and tears - Aphrodite's Child
Home Town - Joe Jackson
Don't Look back in Anger - Oasis
All Together Now - The Farm

Are they all specifically based on Pachelbel's Canon in D?

...if so, you could also have had the Village People's Go West on the list.

Quite right. Hadn't noticed the Go West connection, but then again I'm not a big Village People fan  :-X

Tbh, I don't know the Aphrodite's Child* or Joe Jackson songs. Didn't know the Oasis one was also inspired by Pachelbel but now you've mentioned it, it becomes obvious. I'm sure there are bound to be others too.

*The only Aphrodite's Child track I'm familiar with is the utterly bonkers Four Horsemen. Are they all like that?

I think they're all vegetarians, but that's not so unusual in the performing arts, so I doubt that's it.

Kate Bush recorded a cover of Sexual Healing on King of the Mountain.  I remember it cause she very rarely did covers.  The Pretenders covered Hendrix & The Kinks, but I can't think of a Marvin Gaye connection...
