I managed to whack my head against a steel girder yesterday and then proceeded to fall off the bike. Big lump on side of the head and a cut, but not lots of blood.
I have iced it for 6 hours yesterday and the lump has gone down, but still some pain and bruising.
No dizzy spells, I dont think I blacked out and other than localised throbbing OK.
Anything else I should watch for?
thanks

Other girders...
Headaches
Drowsiness
Vomiting
there are others...

No bleeding outside doesn't necessarily mean no bleeding inside, although if you're absolutely sure you didn't lose consciousness you're probably okay. If you do feel dizzy, drowsy, etc, get to A&E.

...or to an NHS walk-in centre where you might be seen quicker.

thanks am pretty sure I did not lose consciousness as I remember, hit the beam and then falling on my side off the bike.
Will keep an eye on dizziness etc
thanks

Watch out for:
SEVERE headache, distant from site of bruise.
Vomiting
Excess drowsiness
Double vision
Any NEW problem with hearing/vision/smell/taste use of limbs, etc.
Suggest you stay off your bike until you are SURE your balance is back to normal; are you able to walk without a wobble?

No advice to add, but hope you’re OK!

Thanks Mike and everyone else.
I managed to ride the 6 miles or so to my mothers and then ice it for a couple of hours.
I then cycled home ok. There is some pain around the place I hit my head but nothing else out of the ordinary. So hopefully out of the woods and hopefully not famous last words lol.
