I'm a bit miffed that my thread title has been changed. I thought "Whatever" was appropriate.

Somebody has fallen from the stand at Wembley (England vs Croatia spectator) and is seriously injured in hospital.

Who the ** commissioned the TV graphics?  Turquoise/purple/orange/green. It's like a 70's bad trip.

While marginally on the subj, the circular red, white and blue logo plastered all over everything connected with the Dutch team makes them look like they've scored a lucrative sponsorship deal with Pepsi.

And I didn’t think it was possible to produce a cover of poodle-haired Austrian idiots Opus' abysmal Live Is Life that was worse than the original* but some witless simpering shitvert-producing nincompoop has managed it.  Someone needs surreptitiously to swap it for one of Laibach's versions.

* Ex F-i-L gave us the album once.  I think it's still gracing the shelves of the Oxfam shop in the Leytonstone High Road twenty-five years on.

You could start a thread about it - call it Miffed, or Whatever.

Build it and they will come.

A defib won't be any help if the heart has actually stopped. CPR is the way to go.

There is no effective cardiac output from a fibrillating heart, which needs CPR to maintain SOME circulation until a defib reboots the heart's electrics.

That's how it works.

That's how I understand it.  I worked with implantable-defib engineers for quite a few years.

The drunken zombies of Silly Oak have been informing us (increasingly hoarse and slurred) that football's coming home since about 2:30 this afternoon.  It must have got lost, as it surely could have walked home by now...

Football finally came home at some point between 05:30 and 6:15 this morning.  I have not had enough sleep.    >:(

Yes. I had to see the whole logo a couple of times, rather than just part of it, to be sure it wasn't. NL v UA was a good match though, or at least the second half was. I did reckon Andrij would be getting very excited at one point if he was watching.

Scotland goalkeeper embarrassed by being beaten by a shot from near the halfway line
(which contributed to their 2-0 defeat).

I wonder how long it will be before some social media loon issues a death threat to him? :hand:

That was a hell of a bending lob.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I see that a casual gesture by a Portuguese footballer has knocked $4bn off the value of Coca Cola.

The world is truly mad.

At least it is good to know that he declared aqua in Portuguese.

Oh dear, G Bale and your stupid hairdo.  That attempt at a penalty was a Very Poor Thing.

Edit: OK, with that cheeky stoppage-time corner you have redeemed yourself, Mr Bale.  Though not this does not excuse your haircut.

I just came here to post that. I think it's not mad, on the contrary, my opinion of Ronaldo has risen. Also of Pogba for the same reason.

And UEFA are theatening to fine teams if it happens again

I would think that would be the kind of publicity no sponsor would want.

Oh, I agree about Ronaldo. It's the whole crazy cult of celebrity and MegaCorps Inc. which I think is mad.

I just heard oikish, asinine noises emanating from the direction of the pub, and though "Oh, England must be playing" but then found out that they don't kick off until 8pm. The asinine oiks must be having a choir practice.

We have on England vs Scotland. We have zero knowledge about the players of either side. Except Marcus Rashford.

Watching the game.  Probably skip through a recording next time.  Perhaps the 2nd half will be more interesting.

Same for me. Much of the "finishing" has been a bit Matt Hancock.

Fucking hopeless.

It's noticeable that every so often a new word enters the football commentators' lexicon. A few years ago it was "quality". Today, I've heard four or five different people describing England players as being "leggy". I've never before heard that word used in a football commentary. So far as I'm concerned, it's a word that was used by my dad to describe plants that had been left in a pot too long before being transplanted.
