I'm am all packed and ready to go. Aiming to leave at 2.30 am . I'm hoping to get east of London before the morning rush then gently potter eastwards and find a wild camping spot somewhere near Canterbury.  I'll then have a recovery day on Tuesday and meet apollo at Canterbury camping and carvaning site Wednesday afternoon 😀.

managed to get underway at  2.00am .saw 3 foxs while riding through London. No-one about as I drifted along by the serpentine. Shortly after crossing vuaxhall Bridge it got light. Light traffic all the way so far. I have just finished breakfast at Rochester. Onwards  :)

My brother and his family recently had a successful overnight wild camp at this spot, which happens to be on the NCR route (Crab & Winkle Way) between Whitstable and Canterbury, if you're going that way:

Day 1 ended well but was interesting. I  got as far as Sittingbourne and stopped at a macdonalds (yes I know, but it was raining) and had a small meal. I then pressed on and stopped at a shop to pick up some water for next stage and couldn't find my debit card. So I rode back to the macdonalds and it was not there  :o. The staff at the macdonalds fed me, gave £10 and water for the night. They contacted the man who helps the local homeless who let me bivvy on the private land of the local community hall. So I ended up sleeping on what was  the grass patch at the front of the hall opposite Sittingbourne police station 😴

Day 2 starts around 6.30 am and I quickly pack up and set off. AThen Google maps routes me along the a2 through Faversham which has a lot of lorry and car traffic. To be fair most vehicles were good  :). A section of old a2 took me through Broughton under Blean where gunpowder was produced, some of which was used in the gunpowder plot. I reached Canterbury at 11.20 am bought some food and drink. I spent the afternoon exploring the city and as dusk approached I rode out of the city and turned right off the sandwich road past the camping and carvaning site and found a tarmac bridleway over a railway bridge. Bivvy spot number 2 😴

Day 3 started about 8.30 am and I was repacked and rode the mile to the campsite where I awaited the arrival of apollo and the tent etc. When apollo arrived we quickly pitched the tent. Apollo had his lunch and I discovered that parlent house had failed to supply apollos medication 😟. They said that they would send the driver back with the medication for the evening. They also delivered apollos sleeping bag but not his sleeping mat. The campsite team then got involved and got money from parlent House to purchase 2 new sleeping mats in the morning and supplied a mat and extra sleeping bags for apollo. We had comfortable nights sleep in the end 😴

Day 4 and up and about at 8.00am and off to Canterbury high Street to find a cafe for breakfast. After breakfast I planned to ride to Whitstable with apollo but as I set off up the high street and the left front tyre explosively deflated. I got out the new inner tube and removed the old one then reached for my pump......

Which I had left back at the campsite 😳😳😧.
In the course of finding a cycle shop to borrow a pump we ended up at cafe attached to Canterbury punt tours. We ended up taking the punt tour which was very good the historical guide being great at his vocation 🙂.
After another stop in the cafe and finding the nearby bike hire shop I was mobile again.
We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Canterbury before heading back to the campsite. I cooked apollo vegetables and sauce and then as it was getting dark we had a early night 😴

That's a bit, actually a lot, crap organization from Parlent House on Day 3. But at least Day 4 was good.

Reminds me of a visit to Long Itch and a lack of Apollo's sleeping kit.

You need to make a checklist and give it to them each time.  I suspect those putting the luggage together are not campers.

Not being campers doesn't excuse forgetting Apollo's medication.

Day 5
Up at 6.30 am and apollo is off on his morning walk round and and round the campsite. I don't think he woke to many people up. Rode down to Canterbury for breakfast then set off along the ncn1 crab and winkle heading for winstable. We climbed up through the University of Kent following Google maps to pick up ncn1 then crossing a little valley the next section was mainly flat with a good riding surface. After about 5 miles the decent started. Apollo is a slow descender so I waited for him at the bottom. Arriving in winstable we found a cafe for lunch before finding a nice spot on the beach. The kiosks round the harbour were busy selling fresh cooked oysters and the view across the estuary of shipping in the channel and a few sailing boats closer in . About 4.30pm we started back, of course what goes down must go up!,but c and  w is a lovely ride ethier way. Back in Canterbury a visit to the supermarket acquired supplies for our supper and then another early night 🌙 😴

Up and down to Canterbury to the cafe for breakfast and apollo said that he wanted to go to winstable again. So off we pottered. We had a good lunch in a cafe in the high street then to the beach. It was a lovely warm sunny afternoon and apollo spotted someone swimming which he decided was a great idea. He stripped down to his underwear and within 5 minutes was happily swimming up and down within the groynes. After 45 minutes I had  trouble getting him out of the sea but as we had  no towel I wanted him to air dry while the sun was still warm. He had his coat with him from the morning when it was cool and he was soon ready for the ride but to the campsite. When we got back I cooked supper before 😴
