Go camping.

Go camping.

Oh, and go camping.

Also this. I managed zero camping trips in 2021, despite buying a new tent and sleeping bag...

That's a point, I have a new sleeping bag that remains untested.  Would require something approximating summer.

It's 14°C outside at the moment...

Fortunately, our garden lacks a contiguous flat bit that's large enough for a tent.

@Cudzo - I have some unfinished business with the Pembs coastal path. A walk along the length of the Wye sounds good. Given that the Rheidol, Wye and Severn all rise within a couple of miles of each other at the top of Pumlumon Fawr, it's not too much of an extension to follow the Rheidol all the way into Aberystwyth and make it a coast-to-coast.

That's a nice idea but might require more time off than I can realistically give myself. People say the Wye can be walked in a week, but that involves a couple of 20-mile days, which might be fine B&B-ing but I intend to camp. And to meander, in more than just following the river. Nevertheless, it's something to be borne in mind, considered and possibly coordinated.

Goal #2: fix b0rked Windows installation on Bruiser McHuge, who has been failing to update his Billyware properly for more than a year because “page fault in non-paged area”.  May involve nuking from orbit.  Oh well, I don’t have any plans to go anywhere over the New Year chiz.

In addition to living through 2022 I'd rather like to do a 200k again.  Looking back at my annals (n.b. 2 N's) I haven't done one since 2017, though I did manage a 160 this year.

Possibly be made redundant.  Any time from July would be peachy.

No definite plans yet, it doesn't seem the time for them.  However...

I'm booked for the York Rally.     Wowbagger has mentioned Shetland which has piqued my interest.      I've also got vague plans for a Cathedrals tour.  Bath, Wells, Salisbury, Winchester, Chichester and Canterbury , possibly with a few other things tacked on.

Moving to a larger home & retiring both have their appeals, but would require a severe amount of those round tuit thingies.

Shetland is a Splendid Place albeit that it’s long and thin.  And windy.

Lemme know about the first couple, I'm sure I could find a way to divert you to a nearby pub share in your cultural edumification.

I haven't got any. My wife would say go on holiday, but I'm not sure I'm really so keen unless it's something local. I have mixed feelings owing to the environmental costs. Possibly resolve to move house, which I'm also not sure about since it would involve abandoning the suburbs for the countryside and probably (re-)learning to drive, and my wife still has a social life in the London area (plus technically she's supposed to go back to the office at last partially at some point, which also needs to be resolved, if I were her I'd tell them to fuck off).

Lose some weight.
Do some exercise.
Do some proper cooking.
Not necessarily in that order.

Get fit & ride King Alfred's Way in summer.
Come back from that not broken.
Resurrect our house extension plans, get some quotes in and maybe even get it booked in.  I don't think I dare hope for actually having it under way.
Build a component storage unit for the office.  Or rather build the multitude of drawers (this is just an excuse to play with frikkin lasers).  I'll get a local company to CNC cut the carcass.

As I have semi-retired I have no excuse to undertrain for cycling adventures, so I decided I'll be riding l'Étape du Tour again, pestilence permitting.  :P

Registration for the 2022 event "sold out" very quickly so my means of entry is to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.  O:-)
What's this bottom line for anyway?

Plan? Ha ha ha haaaa.  Haven't had one of those in decades.

Indeed. I've generally found that Real LifeTM has had a nasty habit of getting in the way of grand plans, so I'm keeping my aspirations for next year limited to avoiding catching the Dread Lurgi if at all possible and seeing if I can get my 2020 cycling form back rather than this year's pedalling up big hills to rhythms only Max Wall could have danced to. ;D

Anything else I manage to achieve I'll consider a bonus.  :demon:
