Roadworks now complete :)

Had a pleasant couple of laps this morning - although several people seemed to be suffering from Faerie visitations, saw the evidence of 3 on one lap!

You may have seen my 14 Year old daughter on her road bike as the rest of us, especially when I'm towing the toddler,  aren't  fast enough for her so she went off a did a lap herself while the rest of us were on the Turgid Trail.

She claims to have got up Bastard Hill with no problems ;D

Just noticed it's not dark yet! Evening rides without the family beckon :)

I'm going to go for a few (not fast) laps this evening - can meet at Roehampton Gate if interested.

I do 3 laps in about 70 to 80 minutes odd, nothing too speedy.

Anyone fancy a lap or 3 this evening? Time can alter to suit but I'd like to be at Roehampton Gate at maybe 6 or 6.15.

Can't tonight as going to gym after work - but will definitely be interested when work allows. How about Thursday evening?

Right. Slightly better week at work this time.

Anyone for laps on Tuesday 29th, tomorrow? I can be at Roehampton Gate from about 6.15 onwards.

I would join, Sgt Pluck, but a) 18:15 is too early (I make it there for 19:00 ish after work) and b) I am very slow indeed.

But if I see you while you are whizzing round, I will wave.  :)

No can do. Going to the pub to watch the football, and then out with the in-laws on Wednesday.

More likely to be there early morning however I need to face up to the fact that I'm not going to be able to put in 75km both tomorrow and Wednesday to keep up my 600km/month.

If you see any whizzing, it's not me.  :) By the time 19:00 comes around I'll be "very slow indeed" too, and probably considering stopping for a fag. So do say hello. What's your preferred direction of rotation?

Just watch football another day?  :P It's all the same isn't it?

The big game is Friday night (and the Tuesday afterwards). Getting twitchy already.

I might get there around 7pm depending upon what the weather is doing and if the faeries have decided to give me a day off  ::-)

I haven't done a proper lap yet, I've been doing easier anticlockwise 'laps' that cut across the middle to cut out Dark Hill which I have not yet made it up  :-\  I may give a proper lap a go tomorrow so if you see someone walking their bike up Dark Hill that will likely be me!

Anti clockwise.

Is it better for everyone to look at a 7 o'clock start? Let's see who else might be on for this and liaise on this thread tomorrow.

Just twiddle up Dark Hill. If it proves too much, don't walk but stop completely, catch your breath, and pretend there is something wrong with your bike until the coast is clear  :P.
Wait until you are ready to go and then twiddle some more. Then at the top you can say you cycled up it for the first time! Job done; next time it'll be easier.

Next: clockwise and Bastard.

We may be up for a 7pm start, but we'd not be able to keep up with fast folk.  Just giving the tandem a bit of air.

Note to self:  Must ensure smallest chainring is engaging properly ;)
Getting there...
