Today's Weather Forecast

BBC weather website was quite clear; Heavy Rain all day.  I packed waterproofs, and deliberately omitted dark glasses, sunscreen, for the trip from Derby to the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont (20 miles each way).

About 5 drops of rain at 0830; completely dry for the entire rest of the day.  Sunshine off and on, but only light cloud cover.

How can they get the forecast that far wrong?

Where is that? It rained for much of the day here (central London).

Sunny and warm here all day in West Berks.  Nerry a drop of rain.

A couple of thundery downpours around lunchtime served to test the "How they feel when they're wet" and "How long do they take to dry?" properties of my new Endura Humvee 3/4's (Fine and about 15 minutes cycling) but it was hardly the dawn 'til dusk stair-rods we'd been forecast.

Yesterday was much the better day though. The lobster look is calming down a little now...  .

Metcheck could not make up its mind early enough for Lancaster and surrounding areas. They changed the forecast and I was expecting a mostly dry ride and ended up soaking wet. Never trust the weather man
