Is it just me, or are there more of them?  The February one is at risk from ice, I would have thought.

Yup. I think the less official rides in winter have been made public.

And he's found some extra full moons in Jun/Jul/Sep.

13 rides in 12 months.  I would have understood if it was 12 rides...

There are really 10 rides over 10 months, Feb to Nov, which line up fairly well with the full moons.  In addition there are three extra rides in the list, giving two rides in each of June, July, and September. Those three might be anticipated to be less popular for one reason or another.

The full moon dates are:

February 28, 16:38
March 30, 02:25
April 28, 12:18
May 27, 23:07
June 26, 11:30
July 26, 01:37
August 24, 17:05
September 23, 09:17
October 23, 01:36
November 21, 17:27

Oh good grief, that is just TOO posh!

Where's the amateurism, the budget approach to riding? It's starting to look like a Rapha event ...      :P

Yes please, we charge everyone £2500 for a seasons worth of riding and split it between the TECs and human signposts.

The rides aren't strictly speaking every month, they are every lunar cycle (ie 4 weeks), so you get 13 a year.

I think we had rides from Feb to Nov last year, although the November one was supposedly going to be for a select few, and was going to be a fast one.  As it turned out, around twenty people turned up, so it was fast, but not terribly so.

This November there are well in excess of sixty people, so I don't expect speedwise it'll be much different from many of the other rides this year.  If it's likely to be cold and icy, I would imagine a significant fraction won't turn up on the day.

I guess if the weather prediction is too foul, Simon is likely to cancel it anyway, but at the moment it's just a bit wet and mild, which may not be ideal, but isn't likely to include ice.
Actually, it is rocket science.

I really want to try one of these next year. Or just possibly a Dun Run. It's all geographically dependent for me, though, which in turn is dependent on a few other things.

Coverage on the March 26th ride to Brighton (with Martlett's Hospice) in the Argus, HERE.

Complete with a couple of really crappy comments, though clearly no less than we should expect from those occasional rabid mutants who inhabit local news comment columns.

Riders will be accompanied by experienced mechanics who will attend to any punctures and any other mechanical problems.

I dunno who those guys are, but the rest of us are experienced at bodging things. :)

It's good to see that Simon got in with a measured and responsible reply in the comments section.
