Being older than teh Kim, I had what was IMO the very worst of NHS dentistry in my formative years; no preventative treatments, much probing and lots of shoddy amalgam fillings, which seldom lasted long.
I currently have two fillings about 15 yo and given the OK yesterday, the dentist that put them in said "I'll give those 5 years before needing redoing, and the tooth will have to come out in about 15 years"
