Pickled Eggs
« on: 22 September, 2022, 06:51:07 pm »
I can't believe it's taken me over 50 years to try one and discover that they are food of the Gods. Why didn't any of you tell me? Is it a conspiracy of silence to keep them to yourselves?

Just ordered two jars of these babies. Need to be eaten in a bag of salt and Vinegar crisps.

Had two as a tea time snack. Now lying down with a gurgling tummy.

Yes. Yum.  Plate of cheese and onion crisps.  Crush egg on top.
I used to pickle my own but haven't bothered now for ages.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I can't believe it either. Were there no chippies where you grew up?

Or pubs with a massive jar of them on the bar? Sadly a thing you don't see these days
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Its an unmitigated tragedy that you have taken 50 years to discover pickled eggs.  The great news is that you have found the correct way of eating this delicacy, in a crunched up packet of crisps, although it doesn't have to be salt and vinegar, I prefer cheese and onion.
