I shall give you the cash on Wednesday night Tomsk if that works for you?

Feel free to saddle up and join in.

I may join you on the out OD, we have visitors for lunch so as long as the trains are running I will use the GA chaffeur service to return me back to Witham in good time!

It's going to be framed - which may not do much for it's powers of absorption!

Talking of The Compasses there is every chance we will be attending this event over Easter.

Looks likely I'll be there at some point, also the 'Jolly Boys' [Soupy's mates] probably...

Also: Fidgetbuzz asks if all donors towards the OYTTowel want to be named on the list of supporters on the website? I can start a list to pass on as more money comes in?

Re: Fidgetbuzz's query - I'm happy to be included (I'm already listed on there in any case).  Equally, I'd be happy behind a yacf Essex Massive moniker.  Whatever works.

As mentioned earlier, I'll attempt to make Spa Rd for 19:30. If I'm running late, don't wait, I'll make own my way to E Mersea.

[Has anyone checked the tide tables btw ;D]

Is there a route ?

Tide is at 4am so you should be ok unless anyone is planning on some ditch sleeping...

Never before have we had to consider the state of the tide. It's exciting, I like change and new stuff.

I am planning to be at the Spa Rd roundabout at 7:30 this evening, or any other agreed rendezvous point for that matter.  I have no clue as to where we are heading for a refreshment stop  ???
The suggestion of presenting the Marsh Gibbon tea towel to Joss @ The Compasses this evening I thought may be a little previous and depends upon it being received and framed by Tomsk (maybe next week so it's ready for the beer festival).  Then I see Tomsk saying he'll make his own way to E Mersea and others chipping in with useful questions and info - is there a page missing from this thread??  I don't see how we began talking about E Mersea as a destination, happy to go there but wondered how it happened  :-\

Tomsk was mentioning E Mersea as I had text him independently last week to ask if a return trip there to the Dog & Pheasant on a Weds eve would be too far for him to travel before I added anything on here.
I hadn't mentioned it on here yet as I was thinking next week for that trip in order for me to plot a route in and I then saw Tippers mention The Compasses however you make a valid point regarding the Gibbon tea towel! So where do we go........   :-\

Obviously E Mersea is great for me  :P.

Might be better to wait for some more daylight and we can invade the yacht club in West Mersea which keeps a few ales.

Heybridge Basin ?

Hare & Hounds ?

Swan at Totham ?

Compasses at Totham/WB ?

I would be happy with any of these, how about the Hare & Hounds (Layer Breton is that correct Ted?) for the Witham peloton we could head out across Spring Lane and then through Maldon/Heybridge on the B1026 through Goldhanger then loop round the end of the reservoir and back across down Wigborough road up to the H&H and on the return head straight through Tiptree?

Gives Tomsk the option of joining us at Spa Road if he wishes

OD not a yacht club but I do have plans to plot a route to the Dog & Pheasant E Mersea for next Weds eve  maybe as Ted suggested we can then visit the W Mersea yacht club at a later date so we have covered both sides of the Island  ;D
