Shall we just aim for the Axe and Compasses? If we can't be accommodated, then the Black Lion is just down the road ... they have guest beers, we just don't know what.
 Are we aiming for 2000?

Yes. I may be 10 mins late as it's a bit further for me (than the original destination).

It's not far to Pleshy if we get stuck with a pub to use.... I am sure at least one of them will have something cold and wet....

Thinking about this Wednesday, with the Euros on all week it is likely the Cross Keys will be like a miniature fanzone.

Carlos is trucking this week so I don't have to put up with him all the way home (and vice versa) so the SH is a possibility.

I am also happy to host in the garden at home as I have an "empty" on Wednesday.

Wherever we go, it needs to have a covered seating area in case of thunderstorms.  The Boar has a fairly small beer garden from memory whereas the Queen's Head has a partially covered waterside terrace.

We may just have to accept that we are going back round the same venues that have served us so well during Steps 2 and 3.

If you need up to date info re which ones are covered and which ones will be playing the fupball, let me know and I will ask somebody I know in Maldon who frequents them all.   I walked past the Blue Boar the other weekend and from memory it had gazebos up.

Rain later, hmm ... Spiritual Home for guaranteed beer garden shelter? (Yes I know it was pencilled in for next week.)

SH was my suggested fall back option - until I saw the revised forecast.  48k home in a thunderstorm just doesn't seeem that appealing.

Somewhere in between - Sun at Feering ?

Also happy with Maldon(ish).

Think I'm going to be kept behind after skool by the colonials, so don't expect me unless I turn up.

Latest forecast has no rain until 11pm, and nothing significant before 2am tomorrow - but then it looks a bit serious  :o

SH gets my vote as it has great beer, staff and tent, but that is a long ride back for Ted, so I'm easy with any location chosen by our elders...

Also happy to intercept and chaperone Ted if a lack of Carlos is too scary a prospect to ride alone!

Another old boy to escort back. Did I miss the memo when I was appointed Elderly Care Team Leader ?

If the old salty dog is guaranteeing no rain until 2am, I could be persuaded to head to the SH.
