I'm a maybe for LB - what time, I am a bit out of sync with how these Wednesday night things work...

If there's no viable eastern alternative I could potentially manage the LB, Pleshey.

I'm happy to aim for 8pm, if that's fine for others.

I'm available to ride this week but don't fancy a western location so happy to head east.  Hit me with some suggestions...

Pick a pub, any pub.  In an effort to tempt out the Essex Strangler, I have added the distance back to New Serial Killer Hall where appropriate.

The Railway Tavern @ Kelvedon - 7.6km from OD Towers (24km from NSKH)

The Sun @ Feering - 7.8km from OD Towers (24Km from NSKH)

The Swan @ Little Totham - 10.9km from OD Towers

The Old Crown @ Messing - 11.8km from OD Towers (23km from NSKH)

The Bell @ Tolleshunt Major - 12km from OD Towers

The Chequers @ Goldhanger - 1km from OD Towers

The Alma @ Copford -17km from OD Towers (18km from NSKH and 18km from Ted's Terrace, making it the central point and walking distance for Fandango)

Kings Head @ Tollesbury - 18km from OD Towers

The Donkey & Buskins @ Layer - 23km from OD Towers (14km from NSKH)

Ye Olde Albion @ Rowhege - 30km from OD Towers (12km from NSKH)

Fine by me - an hour's indirect ride there and a nice simple return trip.

Could we add a 3rd column for those that huggy has not been banned from for making derogatory comments about beer quality?

If you just let us know which establishments you haven`t yet visited, we`ll have that covered. Temporarily ::-)

Let's see if we hear from the Essex Strangler by this evening. Otherwise we'll let OD choose as the only Elder in our proposed gathering.

huggy is an Elder too, although perhaps he hasn't confirmed his attendance yet, I'm confused.  I'm guessing there's only so many pubs his CAMRA ankle tag will let him visit these days.

If I do get to choose can opt for the Chequers at Goldhanger?  I've just found THIS ROUTE for the Witham peloton which we can make more winter friendly by carrying on along The Ridge and not heading off to the right for a gratuitous loop.  Perhaps we can also scoop up Grey Sheep and wingman if they're about.

But anyhow, lets see if The Strangler makes his feelings known.

Yep, pick a pub the furtherest away from NSKH in the hope of luring The Strangler out, even though we've agreed to let The Strangler choose already. ::-)

Dear me, the conspiracy theorists are out in force today  ;D

My choice on The Chequers was driven by the fact that a ready made route there popped up on RwGPS quicker than a route to ANother pub.  I'm not bothered where we go, would love to see our favourite serial killer again, I just don't want to be back too late as I've a busy day on Thursday.  Zat OK?

I would suggest Alma@copdock 1st choice more central, or  Feering/Kelvedon as 2nd (as far southwest  as I can manage).

But I will let the Elders have the final say in the chosen venue.

Why don't you phone them?  Perhaps you could apologise in advance for anything you might say?  ;D

If BFC is likely to turn up perhaps you might suggest they buy some air fresheners as well?
