Tomorrow I go on work experience for a week, in Cardigan. I'm camping about 8 miles away, so get to cycle in every morning, and the company I'm working with said I can shower there :). They seem like a really friendly bunch, too :D.

Good luck.  What will you be doing?

Thanks - I'm going to a certain Welsh ethical clothing company :).

Like the art btw!

The design was taken from some material.  I copied it and reversed the colours on two of the canvases.

I was called in at the last minute as the guest speaker at a sports presentation awards thingy on Friday night. The ex-ghurka-Atlantic-rower-hero-guy couldn't make it.  :-X

Anyway, in front of 300 assorted parents, worthies, the mayor, national athletes and the local press... I did a surprisingly good job with a fifteen minute presentation on the theme of "ordinary, stubborn, people can achieve remarkable things."

Whew...

I've just told the story I submitted for the new company "journal" was really good and they want more. In fact the colleague who told me this, who I wasn't previously aware was even on the journal committee, said next time she wants her name in my story! (cos I had borrowed colleagues names to give it a more Indian flavour)>

And the bank has finally reissued me with a PIN to my card (after I foolishly changed it and forgot to what  :-[) so I can now buy things again!

We have just picked up the keys to our new rented home, a bungalow in a quiet village called Freckleton. So goodbye to druggies, drunks, chavs and endless police sirens, hello birdsong and nice neighbours.

It sounds like there's a cracker of a storm brewing up out there. I love a good storm, as long as no-one gets hurt

I have had a nice few days and I found out that I can still ice skate.  I think my balance might be good enough to start cycle again.

I'm glad to hear that, Sam, though "absent" would have been preferable to "manageable", eh? One day at a time.
