Really sorry to hear this.

It really makes you think, especially as i have several bikes worth thousands of pounds each and none of them are insured.

I just keep thinking that it wont happen to me, and if it did, that I could/would deal with the scum myself.

Doubtful you would do anything as the villains know their rights etc. My rule is to NEVER leave the bike. It goes in the shop/bank etc with me or I don't go in the shop/bank etc. I once lost a Cannondale from outside a shop. The bike was 10 feet away from me and I thought I was watching it but it seemed to be transported a la Star Trek.

I reckon you are in denial Jethro.It can happen to you & you are unlilely to see it happen & therefore unlikely to be in a position to deal with the thieving scum.

I don't think anyone will nick a filthy MTB fixie with a datatag and two D-locks.  I'm more concerned about them having the stem or seatpost.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.
