While out cycling today I decided to stop for tea 'n' coffee cake at Burnham Beeches nature reserve cafe. As I arrived and put my bike against the fence, there was a couple sitting down at a table. The lady of the couple looked at me and smiled a lot. I wondered if they were anyone I knew so I went over to speak to them.

I said, "Hello?" She beamed, "Oh, hellllooo. I was just thinking how lovely you are." The husband explained, "She's got dementia".

We stopped to admire the view on the West coast of Ireland a couple of years ago and a woman walking her dog stopped, looked at us and said, "sure aren't you great on those bikes". Made us smile for ages afterwards.

Happens to me all the time.

It doesn't happen as often these days, but makes my day when it does happen.

A few weeks ago, I was riding through Stranraer on a Saturday evening while Mrs eck was out on her pal's hen night.

As I passed a group of young ladies women, obviously also out on a hen night, I was surprised, but not displeased, to hear one of them remark, "look at the arse on that!" 

Yeah, yeah, I know -  they must have been pissed.
