The etymology of bungalow is actually from "bangla" it literally means "a house in Bengali style" rather than a one-floored house. So it could be argued that street name was appropriate if there were houses like that in turn-of-the-century Calcutta. But somehow I doubt there were.  :)

And I thought it was because the builders " bung a low" roof on the house....

Not a conventionally silly sign, but this made me laugh when I saw it this afternoon. Perhaps because for some reason I misread it (willful delusion?) as downhill.

A couple from Dubai. In the first one, I have no idea what the two at top and middle right mean.

I would have thought the second one was some sort of anti-audax sign, to go in bus shelters.   No sitting down for a rest, and no sleeping allowed.

Good to see they're okay with spork-wielding bent lowlifes, though.

Actually quite a sensible sign in the cafe at lunchtime.  Sorry I couldn't get any closer for a shot.

Apparently, some customers have taken offence ;D

Personally, I think we need one on the door of the forum.

Or should we have a separate thread for over-size/inappropriate computer error messages in public places?

Best malfunction I ever saw was years ago at a station. The ticket machine (running NT) had blue screened and the punter was trying to understand the instructions....

Good call.  I have a photo somewhere of an entire shop front filled by a projected BSOD...
