GoPro or something for handlebar photos/videos

For city cycling monitoring motorised morons and country lane stuff
would you recommend a GoPro or something else ?

I guess without steady cam you get lots of camera shake.
I've done helmet cam with a 'chilli' head cam but clunky storage and editing.

Is there any function where you can press a button on your handlebars* and snap the
deer/weasel running across the road ?

GoPro on bar space safer (Topeak), but it has also be mounted direct to handlebar.  Used mainly with battery pack.

This review of GoPro above, may be useful...  GoPro image stabilsation is very good - can even cope with bumpy tracks.

You can get a remote control for GoPro, so could attach that to the bars somehow.
Though by the time you have pressed the button, would have missed the weasel. Seems newer models have a "Hindsight" feature, so it is continuously recording, but when you press the button it saves the last 30 seconds.
Or just leave it recording everything, but then its more work to edit and find the interesting parts afterwards.
