"One Day" - does anything ever happen in this film?

I am being forced to watch what must be a film designed exclusively for girls. It so, so dull. Does anything actually happen or does everyone die of boredom at the end?

Erm but that isn't the end of the film.  Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.

Turn it into a drinking game. Take a swig of something every time the hero walks through a doorway or something. Passes the time even if you don't tell anyone else you're playing the game.

What you drink can be anything from alcoholic beverages to domestos depending how quickly you want to get it over with.

I didn't think the book was as good as the rest of the world seems to think it is. I haven't seen the film. By all accounts whatserface's accent is comedy gold.

Pancho, you should write a review of it to compare with Simon Legg's legendary "Atonement" piece (now lost in /dev/null, I fear).
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

+1. It wasn't terrible, but on the whole it was a bucket of MEH.

The book read as though it had been written with TV adaptation in mind. I'm surprised it made it to the big screen; there didn't feel to be much substance to it.

One Day is incredilbly dull, however his book Starter for ten is hilarious.  Student adjusting to university life and trying to get on the team for University Challenge.
