I do hope John Sparkes is going to do Frank Hovis again.  Sadly no Jack Docherty, therefore no "English poofs!" McGlashan.

One of my all-time favourite quotes!! Along with the stage direction "Frank looks around for toilet paper. Seeing none, he sighs and undoes his tie"

And oh yes: "I had forgotten my unfortunate stomach condition, ladies and gentlemen, and after I had had my bath I had to take a shower."

I saw him as Frank Hovis in Pontardawe years ago, on an icy winter's night. A colleague of mine was on the front row and he gave her some lip salve for her supposedly chapped lips.  As she was using it: "It's good stuff that, I used it on my anus this morning'"

Yes, that was well over 20 years ago wasn't it. Saw him too, at the Crocodile Club in Brighton which, sadly, is no more.
