Roger Taylor (of Queen, not the other one) was a drummer, and sang, and wrote songs, and did solo albums.

Nope, way off.  There was a clue in my earlier comment, by the way.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

Gilbert O'Sullivan

He was a drummer originally and played in band with Rick Davies at college. Rick Davies started Supertramp and sings and plays keyboards for Supertramp.
"Nothing Rhymed" is a song written by Gilbert O'Sullivan that Martin Carthy covered on his 1979 Album "Because its there"
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Well done Pcolbeck.  Over to you.

What connects the best electric guitarist ever (according to the guitarist that most people think of as the best) with a singer who had 31 UK top 30 singles and 2 US top 10 singles, a banjo player who has guested with a US band that's not quite quite a public horse, and the harmonica player from a very cold British blues band and why ?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Given I know only four banjo players: Dave Matthews, Steve Martin, Pete Seeger and Mike Harding, I think we do, yes.  :(

Mr Larrington is correct with Bela Fleck. Now you just need the other three and the connection :)
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I honestly don't know.  Unless it's Django Reinhardt - I'm sure I remember seeing somewhere that Jimi saw him as an important influence.

Yes you do. Think plaid shirts and a ridiculous work ethic.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Plaid shirts says Neil Young but he had scarcely started to be famous in Hendrix' lifetime.  I know JMH also rated Billy Gibbons very highly but it aten't him.

I am in a state of this: bafflement.

Famously played the same Strat for his entire career.

So it's Hank Marvin and I'm wrong about Jeff Beck?

Edit:  Now I think of it, Hank Marvin played a Baldwin for a while.  Buddy Holly and Rory Gallagher both played Strats for their short careers.
