Narrow rear rack
« on: 06 April, 2020, 01:52:36 pm »
Afternoon all,
I've a Trek Checkpoint4 road focussed gravel bike and although have a range of bike packing bags would welcome ideas and suggestions of a narrow rear rack that wouldn't look too out of place, my other bike have rather chunky and sometimes industrial looking ones that look too incongruous with the sleeker lines and slimmer back end.
Pockets aren't massive so sensible priced options are preferable.
Any links to products or photos of your lightweight set ups most welcome.
TIA
Andy

Tailfin rack looks rather sleek. Though not so sensibly priced...

Out of interest what size tyres are you running? I've currently got 38 (gravel leaning) and would want to make sure I had enough clearance, tempting rack for a good price though.

I have a Tubus Vega.  If you're using panniers, you can just about wedge your tent lengthways along it, which is nice.  I have used a rack pack before, but that was with panniers that didn't stick up very high.

Only 28mm but I checked the internal width. At 38mm from the rim its 42mm wide so it'll be quite a tight fit I guess.

I just bought the Velocity earlier today (before seeing this thread). Incredible deal on Amazon at just under £20.
Hoping it'll serve me well.

I have a completely different Tortec rack (not sure of the actual model name) which I also got for £20, though it wasn't from Amazon. I think it was either Ebay or somewhere like Tredz. I reckon that's just the proper price of them!
