showered changed and packed, waiting for 10 to head off to the station, I may be a little OVERdressed :)

That has just reminded me Deano, coffeetime :)

Oh, and if you read this before heading for the station, and you know where they are, could you possibly bring those tights I paid you for 2 years ago :)

Ha! I was just thinking about that on my way home from work.  They're packed - though technically you only paid me in January.  I should charge rent ;D

You'll have probably lost enough weight that they won't fit these days ;)

We have a Tigerbiten in the CrinklyDen.  Well, technically we don't right now since he's gone to the chippy, but you know what I mean :)

really? Was it only January this year I paid? Damn, should have held out more :) OK, see you on the train.

And I think you might be wrong about the losing weight bit (that's what 8 weeks at home, eating properly, does for you!)

Cool, I am just watching Cake Boss or some such tripe on the telly, awaiting a suitable time to depart, and sweating buckets as I am dressed to keep warm outside, which is too warm for inside :)

Just read this whilst waiting for the train. Bad luck, Kim. See you another time.

It's windy in Durham. Just been hit by a wayward advertising hoarding blown into me broadside on the ride to the station. No damage to me...

But how's the bike?

I'm just having my breakfast...

Barakta and I have dusted off the television and persuaded it to work. Not as fun but easier on the knees. Enjoy the ride. Or perhaps that should be sailing?

Well done all. How was the pull up the hill onto Fylingdales Moor ?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Hill? What hill? No, figment of your imagination. Or an optical illusion. Or something.

(I only walked up two, and one of those was cos I was being gentlemanly!)

Back home now, via 'Boro with Deano, SlowCoach and Luke.  Fell on a bit of luck getting the TPE, the platform was chocka, so we headed towards the front of the train (carriage A), as we got to the door where the wheelchair section is, the guard got out of his cab.  I was waiting for a "no chance lads, put them in Coach C(where everyone else was going)", instead, we got "No problem lads, chuck 'em on there". He even held my coffee whilst I man-handled my bike into the carriage.  turns out he is a keen cyclist too, result.  Nice quiet journey back to NA, say goodbye to Luke and now sat on the sofa with a wheatbag on my borked knee whilst TLD watches "Step Up"

I decided to trundle back from Whitby by bike, fancied a go at getting back up Blue Bank.  Arrived home at 1pm, very tired - that's the first 100miles I've done in a long time. Blue bank turned out to be not that hard; going down it in the dark, it looked like a cliff!.

Headwinds all the way. Hope the steamies get back ok.

For those not familiar with the area here is the approach to Blue Bank down into Sleights as you go towards Whitby from Pickering. Its a doozy and then you have to go back up the other side (longer but not so steep). Not my photo BTW.

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

All safely in York and going our separate ways. A lovely ride blessed by good weather. Many thanks to Deano for organising it, to the wonderful Crinkly Lion for feeding me CAKE and to everybody else for the good company.

I'm currently inhaling a chinese takeaway - I went straight out and fetched it, before I got comfortable.

very good ride again - great company, empty roads, and what would have been great views, if it hadn't been dark. Bit parky atop the Hole of Horcum, but the tailwind was welcome the rest of the time.  And it wasn't too bad on the way back.

Apologies to fellow steamies for dozing on the train - I suspect I did a lot of the head-jerking awake thing, and trust I didn't dribble at the same time...
