Clarion down!
« on: 19 June, 2009, 08:16:43 am »
Clarion was in collision with a car on his way home last night. He's not broken anything as far as they can see, but they kept him in overnight to monitor things. It was a bit further along the same road where he came off and broke his wrist ::-). I collected his bike from the hospital and there is no visible damage :). I've not heard anything this morning yet and his phone seems to have gone missing between him calling my Dad to let him know he was off and getting his stuff at the hospital. It' might turn up in his things.

Oh heck. Hope he's aright and you still make it to York. Tell him he needs to get knocked off on a Monday not a Friday so he doesn't ruin your weekend the inconsiderate sod ;)
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

We do hope it is minor & a speedy recovery ensues.Pass on our best wishes to him please.
Does that mean you will be in York alone, foot loose & fancy free ;)

York is looking extremely unlikely :'(. Especially as the lad and I are supposed to be on the 11.30 train from Kings Cross, with a tandem that isn't ready.
I think cussedness will keep him going.  ;)

Well, he sounds OK physically, but these things are always traumatic.

Did the other vehicle stop? Were details exchanged?

Wish him all the best from us.

Oh heck, hope he's not badly injured and recovers quickly. Give him a big, girly hug from me and a manly punch on the arm from Vern.

The other vehicle stopped. I passed the ambulance, with the police car behind it on my way home. I didn't think to look inside the ambulance. The police were talking to (I assume) the driver in the police car.
The hospital kept him in because there was some bleeding from the liver, and they wanted to observe.

I feel a bit guilty about (jokingly) suggesting he should have a minor collision so that drivers would really have to report back to their fleet managers.  Luckily he knew it was a joke.

Clarion - get back home soon.

Bleeding from the liver sounds not trivial - but I'm not up on these things. Hope I'm wrong.

Speedy recovery, Clarion.

Bugger. Hope he heals well and quickly.

Meantime, is there anything I can do, being just down the road?
