Thanks to Tomsk, RZ and Jurek for coming along today. We had a fair number - lots of family, a few friends. We've got a transcript of the eulogies and I shall ask the celebrant to send me a version so that I don't have to scan the paper copies. The video should be available in a few days and I hope to link to that.

Some have said they couldn't hear the voices clearly. There's the recording of the service with a transcript (with suitable mistakes).

Seems to display OK, though I’ve had to turn the volume up.
Wonderful service and a great tribute to such a talented and multi-faceted man.

Hoping you are finding strength in these very tough times!

I watched the funeral service this afternoon, with the sound up and craptions it was manageable.

Thank you so much for sharing. I am glad I watched now and not mid-work as I was able to focus better today (my day off). I didn't know Dez very well, but this place is partly one of his many positive legacies both big and small. I had not realised Dez was the eldest and I laughed at some of the childhood memories and one with Jon and a ladder. The best funerals are those that make you laugh and cry a bit too.

I continue to send much love the way of Dez's close people. A life very fully and well lived.

I think we should be told exactly what was added to the UKIP poster.

I can scarcely recall that incident. Dez would still have been living here - I would imagine that it was after an alcohol-fuelled evening. Jon and I invariably had A Lot of Beer. Dez didn't drink alcohol. So he would obviously be the ideal candidate to climb a ladder at 1am.

Edit: I have asked Jon.

And the answer: "RACIST SCUM"

Say it as it is, keep it short and sweet! Good for them!

I was hoping for a Hitler moustache on Farage and an enormous CDC spraying him, but that works too.
