"Flame" mechanical disc brakes
« on: 13 March, 2010, 07:16:48 pm »
I have to fix up a bike which came with these.  They are a fairly neat floating caliper design, but I have no idea where to obtain spare pads.  The existing ones have lots of life left in them so it's not terribly urgent.

Googling turns up very little in terms of hits.  Any ideas?  The pads have an arch-shaped backing plate and there is a slot in the middle of the friction material for a simple V-shaped anti-rattle spring between the two pads.

Don't you just hate the total lack of standards for pads?  Every iteration of every manufacturer's brake is different.

Interesting that.   Defacto pad standards had evolved for canti, V and DP brakes.   Disks allowed manufacturers to deviate.

My LBS has a poster-sized card with dozens(?) of different pad silhouettes. I've googled for an image with no luck - but there must be something out there.

They might be the same as Quad.  I'll have to have another look.

What's the BSO make?
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

They're not the original brakes.
