Cavendish hit by team car on ToB on Sunday
« on: 09 September, 2014, 06:29:58 pm »
A video has been posted on YouTube showing a rider captioned as Cav being hit by a team car. But there is no mention of it on the various news websites.  Anyone have any more info?

Can't get a url from the tablet but search for Tour of Britain.

Yesterday - he hit the car, rather than the other way around - or certainly it's wing mirror and possibly the rider being pushed away?

Unless he hit or was hit by a car today?  I haven't checked whether he even started this morning - he was complaining of some significant injuries to his leg following the above incident?

Edit - he did start this morning.   So he may well have had another incident today?
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Daughter has just found a tweet from him on Sunday where he mentions the incident.  Hence his seated sprint at the finish.

ITV4 highlights discussed it in some detail on Monday evening (might be on catch up). Sounds like he was being paced back into the bunch when the car slowed and he went either into the back of his own team car or hit a mirror of the team car passing (Orica?) whilst trying to avoid own car or both but apparently he did hurt himself quite a bit.
