HLT: Halloumi, lettuce and tomato.

This is the logical extension of Charlotte exposing me to halloumi a while back: the chewy salty greasy hot flat snack makes a very fine not-bacon.

All the BLT subtleties and shenanigans apply.  Re-run the "lettuce on top or underneath?" debate now!
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

I wouldn't go that far, but substituting bacon for ANYTHING is always a step in the wrong direction.

Making a baconoid is wrong.  Hot greasy fried sandwiches are always right.

Next time you're in our neck of the woods Andy, remind me that we have GOT to go for a ride around Richmond Park as a thin excuse to go to the Ship for their not-fish and chips.

Battered halloumi & chips with mushy peas.

Tartare sauce goes surprisingly well with it!

Oh, you've started something now...

Which reminds me, I have some tempeh in the freezer.  Tempeh tempura!

Grilled Halloumi ftw.

Don't pair it with mayo, tho. Just crisp, crunchy lettuce. Nom.

Fried halloumi, mushrooms (the flat ones with flavour) and very ripe tomatoes in a freshly baked ciabatta - nom!

"Scuse me I'm off to the halloumi shop.
