Sorrel soup. That was yesterday actually and lunch not supper but it was so delicious. Would be even better with fresh sorrel leaves.  ::-)

£6 for a tiny bunch! It's a weed, grows wild in the fields! It's just getting to the right fields...

Fish & chips.  It's national fish & chips day, and my wife was given a glass of Prosecco (what else) while waiting.

Lamp chops marinated in garlic lemon and rosemary. On the BBQ tonight with a potato salad to accompany.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Pudding: good old-fashioned rhubarb, lightly stewed with a sensible amount of sugar & a dash of chopped ginger, & served with ice cream. Delicious!

I have never bought rhubarb, except when served in a restaurant. We're currently giving it away in bulk because the pitiful little one leaf plant given to me by a neighbour a few years ago has turned into a triffid & is trying to take over the allotment. I was obviously too generous with the compost.

A Huge Fearlessly-Eatsitall recipe of smoked mackerel in rice with green beans in a  garlic vinaigrette. A little oily but otherwise fine. MrsC has filed the recipe so it can't have been too bad (it was my idea and I cooked it).

Indeed. It were Mrs F who pointed out the choon when we were at dinner last night.
For the record, Johnny cakes are basically donuts without a sugar coating.

Fortunately it was served, not on a Flipflop, but on a plate!
