Photo display sites

I know we've done this before. However, I'm hoping the state of play has improved.

I want somewhere to chuck photos online. Ideally.

Free
Lots of space
*the ability to customise the "theme"* - IE I want a clean simple page showing just the photo, and navigation, no data and a minimum of branding - with the ability to change the theme colours (or at least for the theme to be dark)

I do have web hosting to put up somthing PHP Based, but space is limited, and I've not found a decent PHP based gallery system that gives a good clean page.

If necessary I'll pay, but would prefer to avoid if possible.
