When I went in for my first stent the nurse took a gander at the effects of cycling and said "oh, you've already shaved. Need to do a bit more, though."
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Still waiting! Have had an X-ray to see if the stone is still in place. No news yet, but  I have my fingers crossed.

Stoned again?

Hope the stone/s are already gone and, if not, are painlessly dispatched.

And I recommend this, but maybe wait until after you've been treated.

Still waiting. Ct scan shows a stone in bladder. Much simpler op but I haven’t had anything to drink for 8 hours. I reckon I might have developed a kidney stone while waiting here.

Hope they sort you soon!

If you are fasting, the water released from glycogen breakdown will probably keep you hydrated and maintain a fairly dilute urine...

People with more experience than I tell me that my kidney stone was actually fairly large. It also had some sharp edges. Had it come out naturally I reckon that stone would have been a prick jagger.

Yes, that’s mine, the faded blue robe with my arse hanging out.

That looks damn large to me, and sharp too. Were you passing much blood?

I never knowingly passed a stone but was peeing brown/red for nearly a week. I'm sure I'd have noticed if I'd peed out a stone a fifth the size of yours.

There was a lot of blood in my bladder for the first wee. After that it was quickly back to normal.

The surgeon who carried out yesterday's procedure tells me that there is something wrong with my prostate. "When I sent the camera up your water-pipe, what I expect to see when I get through the prostate is a nice open space where your bladder starts. You have a big wall of muscle. I'll get you to come to one of my clinics in 4 months so that we can give you pressure and flow tests, and decide on a course of action."

So there's more to look forward to. The test that was carried out in June/July showed no abnormal cells so I'm hopeful it isn't cancer. he didn't seem that bothered, but did say that I might need an operation.

Gawd.  Sounds like your prostate's been putting the shot.

That could just be a result of hours spent sitting on a bike saddle.

Suspect it's just the effect of nearly five decades of physiological levels of testosterone...

I suffer from a mild form of prostatitis. I've had two episodes where you feel that you have to pee constantly but of course you can't. Both times a treatment of antibiotics sorted it - reduces the bacteria that enlarges the prostate. Now, I try not to overdo it on the suds and not become dehydrated. Not saying you have that and hope your problem is an easy fix.

Are you bothered with frequent peeing with not a lot of volume?

I think doc will be booking me in for one of these. Not getting any of the kidney pain I had last time I had kidney stones, but started peeing blood last night, in quantity.
