The lads and lasses are covering themselves in sudocreme glory aren't they? If you're not watching, BBC2 red-button live points race right this minute and highlights at the weekend and on iplayer.

Now: If you were at the ACF track day down at Calshott, look at that busy, busy velodrome and tell me that you don't clench with dread at how many bodies there are on that track!

enjoyed every minute of it. the tv does not do justice to how steep that 42° banking is.

team gb has done us proud, and they're not done yet.

I have just posted in racing as I hadn't seen this thread. Just to say congrats to the GB team. This afternoon was fantastic, with great wins for Pendleton, Hoy, Wiggins and Cavendish. Well done all. GB with nine gold medals, it's a while since you could say anything like that.

Gotta love what Hoy said in the interview when asked if the team has peaked to early in the build to the Olympics, he said "We haven't peaked yet".

Chris isn't doing the 1k AFAIK. I think Matt Crampton is.

Shame that Vicki didn't get another gold but didn't they do well? Chapeau all round. Even the new kids did well. It all bodes well for thr future.

A girl I work with occasionaly is an ex GB rower and a friend of Rebeca Romero. She had tickets and a banner made up for encouragement. She then got a change of duty and couldn't go!

Anyhoo- Romero done good too

Rowing and Cycling are very complementary sports - At a much lower level I jumped the other way - from regular time trialling to rowing and sculling. A lot of people do most of their winter cross training on bikes.

Broken collar bone, otherwise OK IIRC from another place (no, not that other place).

Any news on the spaniard who was taken out by the Kiwi during the women's scratch race?
Looked loke a heavy fall there as well (and another broken collar bone).

I think so. I really enjoyed the GB teams tough talking too, "we haven't peaked yet" "we have some tricks up our sleeve".It's about time GB sports people used every trick they can to psyche out the opposition
