The last time I lived in Oxfordshire the New Theatre was a regular stop on the circuit. Sadly seems to hav enclosed as a music venue

Not at all, we saw Jools Holland there, not as active as when I was younger, (saw Genesis - Wishbone Ash - Uriah Heap - Procul Harem and so many more) but still has quite a lot of bands on.
My good news, I woke to see the woman I love, the wee hairy dog I love and prepared dinner then fitted the new rear cluster to Barbaras trike (tis posh with red anodised spider). Down The Boat @ Thrupp (brilliant landlord/ambience) so all in all brilliant day

I rode my road bike.  And with the stem flipped and bars tilted, it was absolutely fine - no more neck pain than I get on my tourer!  And I enjoyed it too.  I was a bit of a wreck before Shyumu dragged me out to play but I feel loads better now.

Thanks mate.  You're a good 'un.

But please don't do that thing any more when I'm hungover.

I finally got my new wheel from Big Al at Wheelcraft. Not his fault - shittylink "lost" the first one.  It's a nice Mavic TN719 on Hope pro Evo 2 disc hub.  It's to match the back one I got with the frame I bought from MacB OTP 'cos he kept the front. Spookily, the box it came in had an address label... with MacB's address on it....  Oh, and block of fudge accompanied the wheel too

My (probably cracked) hurty ribs held up well to the 31 miles to Long Itch.
Yet to discover how they'll react to sleeping in a tent.

Daughter managed to get to the top of her first Munro today. Third time of asking - first time discretion in the face of snow and conditions. Second time dissent in the ranks of siblings. But this time, despite the weather, we got to the top. And back down.

I started work today. Only exam invigilation, but work nonetheless.

In addition, my 4-mile ride there was through leafy lanes on the outskirts of Warwick and Leamington. Only got caught in one short shower too.

I have just confirmed that my Student Loan is completely paid off :D

Actually they'll probably owe me about £500 in overpayment by the time all the paperwork works through (I payed it off a couple months back it seems but I only got a P60 today and next month's deduction will probably happen before it gets stopped). I should get that back though :)

After "retiring" in January I have reduced my work hours from 52 to 41 (from 5 nights to 4), now to get to work on my garden, unless it is rainingthat is, oh, and decent sunny days out on the trike  ;D

I have just had confirmation that I can WFH on Monday, so no silly o'clock wake up call to drive 3 hours to spend a whole day in the office before flying off to Cologne.

Instead I shall be getting up at a sensible time, doing some work then setting off for the 3 hour drive to Stansted, then the flight.

Doesn't sound that much better, that way, does it? Believe me, it is!
