A small piece of good news.

Mrs B phoned me, & then the doorbell rang. It was her new Carradice bag - a Super C rack bag. So she knows it's arrived.

Now I can have mine back! She borrowed it while I was off the bike, & liked it so much I haven't been able to get it off her.

I met him on Sunday, he's completely gorgeous and adorable.  And unbelievably soft!  I mean, really floppy and soft, and he smells delicious.  Amazing things, babies.

I just managed to get my tourer roadworthy again.  All I need to do now is find my mojo and go out and ride it.  Can someone switch the rain off please?

I have finally got rid of the €50 note which has been lurking in my wallet since 2007.  Sold to Miss von Brandenburg for forty of the BRITONS' pounds.

Just got home with a new (used, outgrown by nephew) bike for my son. It was dark when we left my sister's (we'd been round for a completely unrelated reason) so he's only ridden it through the park - but has already said it needs lights!

Our iGEM team has just picked up an unprecedented 3 prizes in the international jamboree in Boston. Best Health/Medicine project, best policy and practices advance, and the iGEMers prize, for the best project voted for by the other competitors.

This is the premier international competition for university level synthetic biology and is competed for by teams from all over the world. Last year we thought we did well with two prizes. This year was amazing.

The project is a new way of using bacteria to rapidly detect potentially harmful infections in those with Cystic Fibrosis. http://2014.igem.org/Team:Dundee

Nice one David! Sounds like you guys are doing some brilliant work there.

I cleared out our cupboard-o-crap this evening and found a brand new pair of the boots I wear so I don't have to go and do shoe shopping hell for at least 6 months.  Decathlon had stopped making the type of boots I wear and Kim had done a couple of buying 3x pairs at a time.

I wear my soles in a very odd way. Really do need to sort my right leg to see if I can reduce that cos the boots are all otherwise OK, but not really resoleable by design.

Possibly worth speaking to a proper cobbler to see if they can do anything on a best efforts basis - a friend's had a pair of cycling shoes fettled like that, and is very happy with the results.

I might try the man up the road if his shop is still there - might have been taken over by yet another student rip off merchant]/s] estate agent or panini bar.

I hope it has a windmill.  It's not a proper crazy golf course without a windmill.
