Well I did say it was the first outing  ;)

This man looked like I'd caught him doing something he shouldn't:

I love that first one with the wheel, looks like you are going to have fun with that camera.

I was out last night too with a camera, and saw a lovely vignette of a Care in the Community Nurse and her charge.

 :)

Impressive for the first time out.

The SLR can really drop the background out of focus in a way not possible with a compact.

I'm really impressed.  I'd love to know what settings you used for the first picture.

I have plucked up the courage to buy a dSLR (Nikon d40) and so far I've practised taking pictures of my rather grumpy cats.  I haven't ventured further than that yet.

I love the warmth of those pics.

What camera is it?

Very nice. Looks like the work of a Canon to me. Probably an EOS 50D.

Makes me wish my dslr was back from the mender.

Thanks for your kind comments.

It's a 50d with a Canon 18-200 zoom. A bit of a compromise lens really, the wider end of things seems to cause a few problems.  The 50mm 1.4f prime I have is an absolute beaut though.

Settings for first picture woz ISO 100, 0"8, f11 wiv a tripod, natch.

And judging from the colour of the sky I would say it was, very roughly, 1858hrs...certainly no later than 1859hrs for that big wheel pic!! ;D
