St Evenage, St Anmore, St Ansted and St Reatham are  fine between consenting adults in private.

There is no place for them on supposedly 'informative' parts of tellybox broadcasting.

It's actually Baalham. Where' the demon Baal fell after his titanic battle with St Reatham. St Reatham's Common is the scar of that battle. Everyone in south London knows this.

That'll be in one of Mr Rankin's pieces of historical research, no doubt.

I was once asked for directions in Brum for St. Henry  Square.
Took me a while to twig that they meant Centenary Square.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

St Retham is in between Ely and Cambridge, maybe that was an alternate skirmish.

As for Wind'em (wymondham) and Cossy (Costessy)  - Norfolk has a lot to answer for.

A lot of places that people think are real aren't. Like Mordon.

I convinced a French friend that Mitcham was pronounced My-sham and it was where all the really rich people in London lived and there was a big fence around it and they'd turned the common into their own wildlife refuge. She was pretty angry when she finally went to Mitcham, but to be honest, most people are.

Woe betide you if you refer to certain Warwick castle persons as Beuchamp (as if France) when, of course, it is pronounced Beecham.

And 'Belvoir' is pronounced 'beaver'.
At least this is done consistently everywhere, unlike Gillingham, Kent and Gillingham, Dorset or Wymondham, Norfolk and Wymondham, Leicestershire......

I have a USAnian friend yclept "Warren Beauchamp".  "Is it 'BOW-CHOMP' or 'BEECHAM'?" asked someone.  Quoth he: "It's pronounced 'SHRIMP-BOAT'".

I think there have been a Several of times over the last fifteen years when he has regretted this.

In American measures I'm XS (could probably fit XXS, but I like to leave room to gestate a pie baby after lunch) so you must be really tiny.
