Even, say, 30 year old 600 tricolour?  Shimano give little compatibility information for legacy products.

I am pretty sure the answer is 'yes', so far as the RD is concerned.

Shimano's compatibility charts can be used (in stages) to prove this as far back as you like if you can be bothered.
