RTW day 2022
« on: 18 May, 2022, 12:47:02 pm »
RTW day is apparently Friday, anyone else who doesn't usually cycle going to?

I'm trying to convince myself to, don't normally as have a company van I need for deliveries, it's 18 miles and need to be in by 8am but may be able to Friday

I'd need more than a day to cycle round the world.

I always commute in by bike, so can't participate

I normally cycle-commute to the office but am working on site this week halfway round the M25, so will be nil points on Friday.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

How about aiming for 74 days?

Despite having recently returned to working in the office, I will not be going in on Friday.
The place was empty last week and the week before. Makes for a very long day.

One of the problems (THE problem?) with Ride To Work Day (RTWD?) Is that they keep moving it around the calendar and there is next to zero pre-publicity

(This can also be applied to many other "workplace initiatives" e.g. Mental Health Awareness week)
Minimum effort, maximum PR opportunities plus the opportunity to retrospectively say "well no one was interested" when someone eventually complains about how shit e.g. cycling provision is at work.co
