I think you've caught the essence of Saturday's event

A moment to compose oneself was required before all the descents...

In a different context. someone in an Arrivée article expressed perfectly how I always feel at the start of that terrifying descent of Glenshee.
"I was ready to set forth into the calm waters of abject terror."

Chapeau to everyone who rode on Saturday.

I'm feeling a bit guilty about doing the org ride in conditions that allowed 80kmh descents off both the cairnwell and the lecht.
But then I have ridden the perm in December and February and I can't remember why I didn't ride it with iroiromono the January attempt that saw about 3 times as much snow dumped as forecast, the slowest known crossing of the BHs and snow gates blocking the cairnwell

A moment on that cairnwell descent resulted in a reminder of the road sense of sheep and deer...

I managed 53kmh off the Cairnwell, The Lecht was probably half that.  Scarey

Although I had to concentrate to keep all three wheels on the ground I'm beginning to think it may have been harder for those with only two to start with!

I think the descents put me off more than the climbs, even though I hate climbing.

I am not good at descents.
