Overheard at work

[Greenbank]

Going downstairs to the canteen. Two women chatting away:

"I got a SatNav in my car now but it's really annoying."
"Why's that?"
"Everytime I go over the speed limit, like 35 in a 30, it starts beeping and telling me to slow down."
"That is annoying."
"But I just turn the music up really loud so I can't hear it."

*sigh*

That must be awful

Maybe if she turns the music up loud enough, she can't hear the screaming either.

I ws staying with a family up in Peterborough earlier this year, who I had never met before (long story). The daughter was complaining about being caught on a speed camera. The problem appeared to be that it was common local knowledge that the camera was bust. She was therefore indignant that no sign had been put up to inform motorists that it was back on line. I sheepishly pointed out that the 30mph sign should have sufficed but got a blank look.....
